US Shipping Update & Suspension
Share
Hey everyone,
I have made the decision to step away from the US market and have disabled US shipping at checkout, effective immediately.
Why I’m pulling back: As of July 25, US Customs and Border Protection is changing how postal imports are processed and taxed—moving away from simplified flat rates and enforcing full standard customs entries.
Under this shift, imports will be hit with a 12% General Postal Import Tariff plus standard category duties based on the specific product type. For MazoFactory products, that category duty adds roughly 17.6%, effectively stacking total import taxes up to almost 30%. While category duty rates vary depending on what you're buying, my gear is subject to 17.6%, creating a massive price jump.
In effect, this change replaces the current 10% tariff, with a combined 29.6% tariff stack (12% +17.6%), a 19.6% increase.
As July 25th 2026 is an arrival threshold, anything I could ship from Australia today would be unlikely to clear US customs before the new tax structure hits. So rather than rushing to take last minute orders with the risk of unexpected delivery fees, long customs holds, or package rejections at the border, I've shut down US orders now.
I first received notification of these impending changes only a few hours ago.
The bigger picture: Expecting my US supporters to pay nearly a third of their order value in import taxes on top of international shipping just isn't a fair or realistic deal. There is also an increased admin burden associated with these changes, as well as complications with seamlessly integrating them.
Other Regions & Current Orders:
· Existing Orders: I currently have zero pending US orders waiting to be dispatched, so no open orders are impacted.
· Non-US Customers: Shipping to Australia, Singapore, UK, Canada and New Zealand remains active and completely unaffected by these changes.
Massive thanks to everyone in the US who has backed MazoFactory over the years—I really appreciate the support.
